To register to vote in Michigan you must:

• Be a United States citizen.
• Be at lease 18 years of age by election day.
• Be a resident of Michigan and the city/township where you are applying to register to vote.
• You must register to vote at least 30 days prior to an election to qualify to vote in that election.

If you are a Lapeer Township resident you may register to vote at the Clerk's office during regular office hours.
You may also register to vote at the Secretary of State office or at the County Clerk's office.

Additional Clerk's Office hours: The clerk's office will be open for voting on the Saturday prior to election day from 11AM until 2PM.
You may also vote early as an absent voter, according to election law on the Monday before election day from 9AM until 4PM.
